Six - Hydra
Hydra
was a many-headed monster. He had really
bad breath and in other words needed an everlasting Tic-Tac. In fact, its breath was so bad that it could
kill any ordinary mortal with one blow.
If any of his heads were ever cut off, two more would grow in its place. Summed up, he was a very powerful beast and defeating him would prove a difficult challenge for any mere person. But Heracles obviously thought that he was not just any mere person. You see, he engaged in battle with the Hydra as one of his twelve Labors. The heads were growing back as fast as Heracles could hack them off, so he burned the area where had he cut a head off almost immediately after dislocating it from the body. The burns kept the new heads from growing back in. He finally defeated Hydra, and in this way the Hydra was never seen of heard of again.
