Cerberus was a three-headed dog that
guarded the
Underworld. When a person died, he would let them in, but never
let them
out.
Only two people have ever left
the Underworld. The first was Heracles.
He was to take
Cerberus to the surface world as one of his 12
labors. The second was Orpheus. Orpheus played Cerberus a
beautiful
song on his lyre, causing the great beast to fall asleep on his quest to rescue Eurydice.
