Chapter Thirteen - Pegasus

Pegasus was a winged horse that was born from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa when she was slayed by Perseus.  Pegasus enjoyed drinking from the spring of Peirene at Corinth.  Here, the hero Bellerophon, who was in need of a horse to attack the Chimaera, found Pegasus and tamed him with a golden bridle given to him by Athena.
