The Statue of Zeus

Introduction History Outcome

To the Greeks, Zeus was the foremost of all gods and the ruler of Mount Olympus. He governed all living things and watched all that occurred around him. As such, the Greeks held Zeus in high regard and loyally worshipped him. The statue of Zeus was constructed as a means of glorifying their god and representing him in human form.
