History

The actual construction of the pyramid took about 20 years to complete; yet it is still unclear as to how the pyramid was actually constructed. It is believed, however, that slave labor was not used as a means of constructing the pyramid. The pyramid of Khufu consists of 2.5 million stone blocks, and is over 400 ft. tall. It weighs approximately 6 million tons, and has a square base measuring 13 acres on each side. If it was hollow, it could easily contain four or Europe’s cathedrals along with the U.S. capitol, and there would still be plenty of room to spare.
