Introduction History Outcome

Many are aware of the fact that the ancient Egyptians used their pyramids they constructed as a tomb for their pharaohs. What is not commonly known is that a similar feat was performed in Turkey by the Persian Empire. However, the monument constructed by the Persians looked quite different from the pyramids as it reflected the Persians’ style of architecture. Like the pyramids, this monument would serve as the tomb for one of their kings after he had died. The tomb was given a certain name—the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus.
