The Hanging Gardens of Babylon

Introduction History Outcome

One of the three Asian wonders was the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. It was built by the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar during his reign from 604-562 BC. In order to please his homesick wife who hailed from a mountain kingdom, Nebuchadnezzar built the gardens to create an environment that resembled that of the mountain regions.
