The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World

The Colossus of Rhodes

Introduction History Outcome

The Colossus of Rhodes is one of the five Greek wonders of the ancient world. Built to display the Greek’s expertise in the field of art by Caries of Lyndos, it nearly depleted the world’s known supply of resources throughout the years of it construction. Many bronze mines were depleted, and in order to create the sufficient amount of materials, weapons and armor were melted.
