Roman Gods

These are the main gods and goddesses


Jupiter- Jupiter became the chief god after overthrowing his father Saturn.
Juno- Juno is Saturns sister and wife. She is the queen of the Gods.
Minerva- Minerva is the goddess of wisdom and learning, art, weaving, meditation, and accomplishments.
Vesta- Vesta is the goddess of the hearth and of the home.
Ceres- Ceres is the goddess of agriculture.
Diana- Diana is the goddess of the hunt and of the moon, she protects all women.
Venus- Venus was the original goddess of Spring flowers and vines.
Mars- Mars is the god of war.
Murcury- Murcury is the god of commerce. He is also the god of robbers.
Neptune- Neptune is the god of water.
Vulcan- Vulcan is the god of the forge, fire, and volanos.
Apollo- Apollo is the god of prophecy, the sun, archery, music,and poetry.

Saturn- Saturn is an ancient Italian deitie that was the highest god of them all.
Faunus- Faunus is the grandson of Saturn who was worshipped as the god of the fields and of the sheperds.
Quirinus- Quirinus is the god of war.
Bellona- Bellona is the war goddess.
Terminus- the god of landmarks.
Pales- Pales is the goddess gaurding the cattle and pastures.
Pomona- Pomona gaurded the fruit trees.
Flora- Flora is the goddess of the flowers.
Lucina- Lucina is the goddess of childberth.
Vesta- Vesta was known as Hestia in Greek mythology and she was the chief female goddess.
Liber- the latin name for Bacchus who is the god of wine and bachelors
Janus- the gaurdian of the gates of heaven
Penates- they were the gods of the family welfare
Lares- they were the mortals that also look out for familys
