During the years of time these were not only the clouds and the behaviour of the animals from which people drew conclusions concerning with the weather, but also from the changed characteristics of the objects. In this way they prepared the simplest "meteorological appliances": the humidity meter which was based on the lenghtening feature of the hair, or the pressure meter which operated on the basis of the changes in the stiffness of the blown bladder of a pig.
Certainly, people observed the celestial bodies as well. They observed the journey of the Sun, and the Moon also got a significant role in the counting of time. During the night, the stars helped orientation. The mastery of stars was the privilege of the shepherds and the seamen. All of them named the constellations according to their lifestyles and beliefs.
