15 Feast of the Assumption. Its fair and warm weather foretells a good bearing of fruits and grapes. The "period between the two Marys" (Aug. 15 - Sep. 8.) is a magical period, they gather herbs, flail wheat for planting seeds, and gather eggs to clock. Those chicken that were hatched in this period will be most fertile.

16 Rókus. The patron of cattle that are not kept in barns.

20 Stephen. The feast of St Stephen, King of Hungary. They bake bread from the new harvest for the first time.

24 Bartholomew. In some regions it is considered as the first day of autumn. They try to annihilate rats, worms and other pests.
