Although certain places are more susceptible to disaster than others, natural (as well as man made) disasters can strike any where at any time. The key to surviving disasters is planning. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recommends that you keep a disaster kit on had with many needed items in an easy to carry bag or backpack in case you need to evacuate.
