Living on the I.S.S.
(International Space Station)

Living on the I.S.S. is different than living on Earth. Astronauts now have better food then they had in the past. They had to eat freeze-dried food. Now the spacestation is equipped with microwave ovens and refrigerators. Each crew member will have their own sleeping quarters. But with no gravity, they will need to be anchored down so they don’t float away. Exercise is more important in space then on Earth. If you don’t exercise in space your muscles will get too weak and you might get bone loss, which is dangerous on Earth. They exercise 2 hours a day. Astronauts wear special space suits outside and wear normal clothes in the spacestation.
