A Blizzard is a very big snowstorm, with winds that are up to 35 miles per hour (56 kilometers). Blizzards happen when the temperature drops below freezing, the winds go up to 35 mph, and these conditions last for 3 or more hours.  Normal people can't predict blizzards but meteorologists can!

A meteorologist is a person who studies weather. With a weather balloon, weather plane, weather satellite and a radar dish they can predict when a blizzard is coming and how strong it will be.
