The Legend of Tom Dooley and Laura Foster

Many years ago a music group called the Kingston Trio sang a song called The Ballad of Tom Dooley.  It was based on what happened to a Caldwell County,NC man named Tom Dula.

He had a girlfriend called Laura Foster.  Somebody murdered her and Tom Dula got blamed.  Long time ago everybody believed that Tom Dooley killed her, but later on some people found more information and said no, he didn't.

So Tom Dula or Dooley has become a legend and people tell stories about what "really happened".
