Austin:
My name is Austin and I am thirteen years old. I live in West Linn , Oregon and go to school at Three Rivers Charter School . I have one brother named Griffin who is four years old. All of my friends either call me Auzzy or Aut, which was created by my brother. My hobbies include basketball, baseball, golf, speaking French, watching TV and movies, and playing XBOX. I play basketball for the city team about 7 months a year. My favorite color is crimson red and my favorite movie is Bruce Almighty. I met my teammates through my school and I have known each of them for three years. Each of us enjoys technology and exploring the world of science. On this site, I worked on the section about predicting earthquakes.
Drew:
My name is Drew and I am twelve years old. I live in the United States. To be specific I live in West Linn , Oregon in an old farm house atop a hill on a seven acre lot. Every day after school I have to go down to our barn and feed our one chicken, numerous sheep, and our goat. I go to school at the Three Rivers Charter School . My favorite color is silver . My hobbies include: lacrosse, basketball, watching movies and TV, speaking French (parle Français), playing XBOX and talking to my friends. I also enjoy exploring the new and interesting and worlds of science and technology.
I have known my teammates for over three years through school. We all have a passion to explore the world of science and technology. We all share most of our classes with each other and talk to one another at least once every hour of the school day. We all enjoy speaking foreign languages and doing extra curricular activities. We all work well together and we all enjoy making web sites. We enjoy spending time together outside of school too. We play sports together. I am really glad that I am on this Thinkquest team. For this project, I completed the pages on what earthquakes are and how they occur. I especially enjoyed working and learning about Dreamweaver for this project.
Lucas:
My name is Lucas. I live in West Linn , Oregon and attend Three Rivers Charter School . I am twelve years old. I have one sibling. My hobbies include searching the web, looking at electronics, playing video games, watching TV, and playing soccer and basketball. My favorite color is blue; and navy blue is my favorite shade. I also work very hard at school and try to maintain and improve my good grade point average. My favorite classes in school are Math and French, I love the idea of being able to speak two languages fluently. I met my teammates (Austin, Drew, Lucy, and Sachie) at school. We have all known each other for at least three years, and some of us go way back all the way to second grade. All of us have an interest in technology and computers. One day this year I discovered this contest and I talked to my teammates and we all decided that we wanted to commit to this project. I agreed to be team leader, however, I really feel that everyone did their part and that we truly worked as a team. I think that we all work very well together and I am proud of the way that our site turned out. My particular section of the site to research was on the effects of earthquakes.
Lucy:
My name is Lucy and I am an eighth grader at Three Rivers Charter School . This is my fifth year at this school. I am fourteen, and my hobbies include music, doing things with my friends, and I like to read as well. I am the oldest member of my team. We met once a week (on Wednesdays) for the duration of the Thinkquest time period. For the site, I worked on writing about what the Mercalli scale is, how it works, what the Richter scale is, and how it works as well. So overall, I completed the measurement section.
Sachie:
Hi, my name is Sachie. I am in seventh grade at Three Rivers Charter School . I am thirteen years old. I play basketball for Rosemont Ridge Middle School , because our school doesn't have a team. I am also on a 14 and under softball team, I am on the A team. In basketball, I play point guard; in softball, I am a shortstop and lead-off batter. My friends gave me the name Satchmo from Sachie, then it just became Mo. I got a 4.0 last term and two of three terms last year. I have a half acre behind my house and my brother and my friends and I like to invent games like backyard golf. My favorite sport is football. I like electronics, and computers. This year I was on my first Lego Robotics team. At the state tournament we received 2 nd place in Robot Performance, and 3 rd place in teamwork. I think this helped me be a better teammate. This was the first web site that I have ever made, and I had a great time.
I met Lucas 10 years ago. We were in the same pre-school. I was also in his 2 nd , 3 rd , and 5 th grade class. We have been friends for a long time. He is the one who introduced me to Thinkquest. He used to live down the street from me, until he moved a year ago. I met Drew 3 years ago. We were in the same school, and we had some of the same classes. He really knows his electronics, and it was good to be on the same team as him. Austin also goes to our school. He is friends with Drew and Lucas. He is really good at sports. I have known him for three years. Lucy is the other girl on the team. I don't have as many classes with her, because she is in 8 th grade. I got to know her better through Thinkquest. She did a lot of writing and research for our website. On our Web site, I completed the section on the history of earthquakes. It was really interesting to create the map with the buttons that linked to other pages.
