Voyager

The American planet-research space probes are called Voyager. The Voyager-1 and voyagertwo /Mariner-11 and Mariner-12/ were launched to search the outside large planets. The favourable position of the planets were possible to visit the Jupiter,Saturnus, Uranus Neptunus. Both space probes left the Solar-system.

25 years ago on 20.August 1977 Voyager-2 the most succesful space probe was launched to the outside planets. Its task was to approach the Jupiter and Saturus with the Voyager -1.The Voyager 2 approached the Uranus and Neptum so it fulfilled “The Grandest Tour Programme”.

The two space program had to cross first the small planet zone, which the Pioneer 10 and 11 did it before them.At that time thr compound of the small planets have not been known yet and it was worrying that the instruments may have damaged by the small grains of dust.Fortunately nothing has happened to themand the two space probes could fly towards the Jupiter.

The Voyager-1 preceeded the Voyager-2 on 5, March 1979.it reached the Jupiter. It took photos first of the ring-system which had already been proved earlier by the Pioneer space probes. In July 1979 arrived the Voyager -2 at that place where both mapped the moons of the Jupiter.

The Voyager-1 in November 1980 and Voyager-2 in August 1981 reached the Saturnus. The rings of the planets were amazing and they discerned twisted rings - curved on the surface.

Beside the usual cratered moons which were active in geology they found the real unique moon the Titan. Its first atmosphere is thick and opaque was seen though it could not peep in under the atmosphere. The experters would have liked to take some photos of the surface of Titan whether there were any continents or it was likely to the ancient Earth.THat is why the Voyager -1 was manoeuvred near the Titan hoping to find a slit in the clouds to be able to take some photos. The Voyager-1 took some very interesting photos of the cloud-shreds but it was already too near to it that it was thrown away from the Solar-system and could not visit any more planets.

Voyager-2 contnued its way along towards the Uranus. It passed the distant blue-green planet on 24.January 1986.This space probe damaged when it crossed the ring of the Saturn a crank platform caught in it.It seemed that they could repair the damage safely had taken less photos with faster transfer. It was worrying wether it might work as well as nine years before.

In the atmosphere of the Uranus could hardly any photos managed to record except some clouds-shape.Among the moons the Miranda was the most interesting which shows a picture of an exploded planet first and than it would have united again.

The next aim was the Neptunus. It was suspected concerning to the star-observations from the Earth that the planet is surrounded by a ring-system but we did not know its outlook and size.It was worrying that one of its particle may have damaged the instrument.Fortunately it managed to near to it in August 1989 without any damage. The photos of the ring-system are fascinating.

The Voyage -2 continued its way towardsthe outside unknown part of the Solar-system.We can receive its sign are getting weakend because for at least some decades there is a radioisotop supply force on the deck. On the Earth we could need today a 70m radio antena to have the above mentioned result. On the probes -as well on the Pioneers- they have placed a message fo the creature -ET- if it may have found by strangers. The record is galvanised by gold and the lucky founder s are greeted by many countries of the Earth in different languages- Hungarian - as well.If only an art collector astronaut would follow it a cup of thousand years later to have it as a souvenir.
