The Native Americans loved the wolf dearly. Wolves were a big part of Native Americans survival. If it wasn’t for the wolves, Native Americans wouldn’t know how to hunt very well. Native Americans would watch the wolves and see what they would do. They learned that bisons were scared of people but not wolves. Native Americans would dress like wolves and get close to the bisons; then they would shoot them.

Native Americans would show great love for the wolf by wearing masks to ceremonies. They would also do wolf games and dances.

Some Native Americans would call the wolf a brother. They say that the wolf helped them survive like a real brother would.
