Back in the 1950's most wolves became extinct. Some wolves were hit by cars or starved because of people moving into their territory, but most were killed by hunters.

Some people believed that all wolves were vicious hunters that killed their livestock and humans. Before the 1980's there were no laws to protect the wolf and they were heavily hunted. People tried to completely get rid of the wolf. Some people still believe that wolves are vicious killers. However there are many people who want to save wolves.

Today in the U.S. we have laws to protect the wolf. You can’t hunt wolves, not even with a permit. However you can hunt them in Canada.

Some people still believe that wolves are vicious killers. However there are many people who want to save wolves.

In the future the wild life preserves wants to renter the wolves into the wild. They want to bring wild life preserves wolves around the world to places were they are extinct to enter them back into the wild.
You can help by doing these things: Enough food for all the wolves, Large places were they could roam, and a legal protection so people cant hunt wolves.
