Venera 8

                  Venera 8 was sent to the atmosphere of  Venus and was also equipped with a lander for the surface. On April 6, 1972, the lander seperated from the main spacecraft. Venera 8 transmitted data during it's descent and the lander transmitted data for 50 minutes before being destroyed by the elements of Venus.
