Venera 7

    Venera 7 was launched on September17,1970. Venera 7 was designed to land on the surface of Venus in order to study the surface of Venus.  On December 15, 1970 it became the first spacecraft to successfully land on the surface of Venus. Venera 7 was able to send data to earth for 23 minutes before being destroyed by elements of Venus.
