Many scientists and engineers from over ten European countries and 32 states of the U.S. made up the team for designing building and flying the Cassini/Huygens spacecraft. The Cassini was launched in October 1997 at Cape Canaveral  in Florida to Saturn and it's moon. It will land in June 2004.

The Cassini orbiters weight is a total of 2150 kg (4750lbs). When the  Huygens probe is attached it weighs an additional 3480kg (6740lbs). There was equipment for twelve experiments on the Cassini spacecraft.

Some of the things things that the Cassini orbiter will accomplish are the studies of ice and dust grains in the Saturn system with there cosmic dust analyzer. With their plasma spectrometer they will be able to explore plasma (highly ionized gas) within and near the magnetic field of Saturn. Another experiment was studying Titan's winds from their effect on the probe during its descent.

I hope that the project will be a success!
