Sigit and his sister!
Hello! I’m Sigit, of Indonesian descent, eighteen, male, currently pursuing undergraduate degree majoring Graphic Design in Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. I live in the city of Bandung, the capital of West Java province, which is renowned as one of the most popular hideaways for busy and tired Jakartans. Its location, which is central and up on the highland makes the city cool and frequently raining.
My role in the team is creating the face for the web site. I do all things graphic, the design is my work. I also worked the htmL editing together with Willem, who is in charge of technical aspects and translation to Dutch. This is by far my fourth time participating in ThinkQuest (TQ) – and that’s pretty exciting for me to realize! My first TQ experience started in 2001 with TQ Internet Challenge with a team composed of Indians and a Malaysian. We got Achievement Award for the site, and it was a lot of fun. The next year I undertook TQ Netherlands, in a team comprising of amazing folks from Netherlands, Taiwan, United States, Canada and Australia and won two prizes! Last year, in 2003, saw our first failure of TQ ever, which we didn’t finish for there were unsolvable critical problems. But this year in 2004 I aspire to rejoin the chain of success in my so-called TQ ‘carrier’.
This team is a marvel to work with. First, there is Willem from Netherlands who is very attentive to the team. Second there is Hilary, our content writer. Her nationality contributes much to the topic. Next there is Anneke, our main Dutch translator. Then, there’s our fabulous coach Carol, who is also the mother of Hilary, and this is the third time that she’s coaching me. Next there is Dirk-Jan, our really, really quiet coach. But I’m sure he's been watching us all along. I would like to thank every one of them for their valuable contributions to the success of this project. I also would like to thank my family and friends for giving me the chance to do what I want to do, and the success of this project will be yours!
