      Here are some interesting facts. Ancient Egyptians were the first to use herbs and drugs as a form of medicine. There is evidence that Egyptians were the first to perform surgery. Also Egyptian surgery was SO advanced it was very similar to surgery today. Owing to the fact that there was no knowledge of aesthesia. The way Egyptians made a person unconscious was to hit them on the head with a mallet! Just think of how many people would not have survived the blow. They also knew how to set and splint fractured bones.

       Although these practices sound barbaric, they were actually advanced for the times. There was no research, medical journals or other forms of communication for procedures. They used their own scientific thinking and trial/error to make people feel better.
