The guy with the blonde hair, wearing glasses, and walking around with T-shirts even in winter time - that's Tonay.
He's the only American in the group. He is a newcomer compared to the rest in the group.
He joined the others in 7th grade.
Name: Tonay
Age: 15
Place of Birth: Hawaii, US
School: Tashkent International School
Languages: English, Russian
Briefly about Tonay: Hi, my name is Tonay and I'm 15 years old.
I have three brothers and five sisters. I was born in Hawaii when my mom was
going to the Marshal Islands where I lived for three years. Then my family
and I moved to North Dakota. We only recently moved to Uzbekistan from North Dakota.
It's very different. It's a lot warmer here than in North Dakota which
was about 30 below. My brothers and I laugh while we are wearing t-shirts
and we see people walking around in heavy coats. I like playing the trombone
and I have a German Shepherd named Linda.
Briefly about where Tonay's from: Most people have never heard of
North Dakota. When visiting other countries I only found two people who
knew were it was. It borders Canada in the middle of the U.S. I lived
in a small town most of my life where just about everyone knows each other.
It's a bit different from Tashkent which has 2 million people. There is
a lot of farming there and one out of the two gasification plants in the world.
That's what most of the people depend on there and what keeps it a town.
Tonay's thoughts about ThinkQuest and his team members: When
we first looked at last year's winner I didn't think we had a chance. But
now the website keeps getting better and better and we have hope. I think we all worked
hard and since none of us were really professionals in HTML we had to
put what we knew together. Everybody on the team knows each other and
has for at least three years.
