Mrs. Timcke is the English teacher and Librarian at our school. She has lived in Uzbekistan for a long time and speaks Uzbek fluently. This is the first year she is teaching our class English as she normally teaches 11th and 12th grade. She is very strict when she checks our work, especially the work that we have written for our site.
Name: Mrs. Timcke,
Assistant Coach
E-mail: felicity@tashschool.org
Location: Tashkent, Uzbekistan
School: Tashkent International School
Languages: English, Afrikaans, Uzbek
Briefly about Mrs. Timcke: I have lived in Uzbekistan for a long
time, teaching at Tashkent International School for the last four years.
I love English very much, especially reading (and proofreading)! Although
I know quite a bit about computers, it amazes me how well this 9th grade
team works so easily with HTML, I wish I could be that good.
Briefly about where Mrs. Timcke is from: I was born in South
Africa and keep my home with my husband and two cats in Durban, a harbor
city located on the eastern coast, right by the warm Indian Ocean. It
is completely different to where I live in Tashkent where the sea is VERY
far away as Uzbekistan is a double-land-locked country. Many people in
Uzbekistan have NEVER even seen the ocean.
Mrs. Timcke's thoughts about ThinkQuest and her team: I think that this
is a fantastic project. It gives students an opportunity to find information
about topics of international importance. Having our site on the Internet
makes it possible to share this knowledge with the rest of the world.
The team has amazed me, both in their ability to create and to put their
creations into HTML. They have worked well together, complementing each
other with their variety of strengths. Even though things could have become
a little stressed, they worked well together and there were never any
difficulties or clashes. Well done!
