Briefly about Akmal: My name is Akmal and I'm 14 years old.
I'm from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I was born in 1989. I lived in Turkey for two years and at the age of six I came back to Tashkent. I have studied
in Tashkent International School for eight years already. I like to play sport,
especially soccer and basketball.
Briefly about where Akmal's from: Uzbekistan is the second largest country in Central Asia. Its capital is Tashkent, the biggest city in Central Asia. It is very old and it had lots of rulers. Tourists usually come to Uzbekistan to see the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.
Akmal's thoughts about ThinkQuest and his team
members: I really like the idea of the ThinkQuest project because we
can challenge students all around the world. Thanks to this project we
can learn about each other and each other's countries. This project might give
an opportunity for us to travel to the U.S. My part of the project is
the dying Aral Sea. I chose the Aral Sea because it affects my people
and the region I lived in. This problem is one of the biggest problems
Uzbekistan has. This problem also has a huge impact on the economy of
Uzbekistan and the environment. I like our team. We work well together
and we always help each other. We have known each other for a long time, so
this is not the first time we are working together.
