The Centaur  is familiar to modern audience.  A Centaur is a half man and half horse.  Well the distinctions between the two bodies are often varied. The  Centaur may only use the top half of a man's body placed on the body of a horse where one would expect to see an equine neck, he may also posses the entirety of a human body, with a horse's lower half of the body attached.  Artistic renderings are varied, and the extent to which a centaur has a human body is sometimes a reflection of the power  of civilization in him.  The centaur are well known in Greek mythology because they are part human part horse. While some   centaurs, almost only Chiron and Pholus are known for their wisdom, while most are known for the will to fight.
