Papio
Long ago on the island of Maui. There was an elderly woman stringing two beautiful leis for her keiki [grandchildren]. One day a beautiful lady came to the beach to surf when she saw the woman stringing her leis and said “one of those leis would look beautiful on me.” The woman ignored the lady's rudeness and continued stringing. The lady was upset and went surfing, about two hours later the lady came back from the beach and saw the woman leaving. The lady quickly snatched a lei and laid on a rock too show her beauty letting her hair fall in the water. Papio the shark goddess was filled with anger as she saw the lady snatch the lei from her friend. Her friend had worked all day on those leis too. Papio sent her guards to grab her by her hair. Her blood stained the sand of beach. The woman was shocked and Papio never harmed to hurt people again.
